Remembering Pop Smoke

The 20-year-old rapper, whose legal name is Bashar Barakah Jackson, suffered gunshot wounds during a home invasion. Officials pronounced the rapper dead after being escorted to a hospital. According to the Los Angeles Times, police detained several people at the scene, but later released them. Authorities have yet to identify or find the four suspects who fled the scene. Keep Reading

Sprinting for the Salah Foundation

As quoted by author Andrea Randall, “Heroes don't always wear capes,” but in the case of this year’s annual superhero-themed Pre-med “5K for a Better Day,” this may not have been the case. About 350 runners (students with their families and friends), came out Saturday, Feb. 15 to participate in a 5K to benefit the Pediatric Oncology unit at Salah Foundation Children’s Hospital at Broward Health. Varsity boys soccer knocked out in regional semifinals vs Raiders

After edging MAST Academy in the regional quarterfinals a few days earlier, the second-seeded varsity boys soccer team crossed paths with the third-seeded Gulliver Prep Raiders (12-7-4), looking to keep their chances of a three-peat alive. Following a scoreless first half, both squads picked up the pace with a goal in the second to knot up the score at 1-1.
