After losing the season-opener to Miami Carol City, the Patriots have gotten back on track winning their last two games, including an 11-3 victory over the Miramar High School Patriots on Friday night.
With every new NFL season comes a talented draft class of rookies preparing to challenge the veterans. Among the upcoming 2018 NFL draft are two Heritage alumni, Sony Michel and Tarvarus McFadden, who are ranked near the top of their running back and cornerback positions respectively. In this year’s NFL Scouting Combine, a week-long test in which projected draftees are challenged in front of staff from NFL teams, Michel and McFadden attempted to increase their draft stock in order to ensure a higher selection.
Thirty-two players from the Varsity Baseball, Softball, Girls Soccer, Girls Basketball, Girls Tennis, Swimming, Boys Golf, Boys Lacrosse and Football teams signed to colleges in the main theater, accompanied by approximately 500 family, friends, coaches and fans. The event ran from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Feb. 7.
Hart, a true outside linebacker who can also play strong safety, was selected as one of the top 50 high school football players in the nation to play on the USA U-19 National Team against Team Canada at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX Friday, Jan. 19.
After a 44-15 victory over the Bakers County Wildcats in the FHSAA Class 5A State Title game, the Patriots are back-to-back state champions.
