Following the progression of hateful headlines in the world such as Donald Trump’s rallying cries of “build a wall” and “send her back,” it can be hard to believe that there are any good news movements. However, there are many sources of positive news to look forward to.

Good News Network

If you’re in search of good news online, check out the Good News Network (GNN). This site updates daily with global stories of people saving the environment, promoting peace and making significant change in the world. Check it out here.

The Good Newspaper

First known as an optimistic Kickstarter project, “The Good Newspaper” by Good Good Co.’s Braden Harvey is a quarterly print newspaper filled only with good news. Plus, 1% of sales goes to environmental protection organizations. If you are looking for some joyful noise though, you can check out their podcast every Monday. You can also get good news every Tuesday if you subscribe to their newsletter.

Reasons to Smile

While YouTube is known for bringing up gossip and negative discourse, the trend for YouTubers to cover “Reasons to Smile” is a nice contrast to the videos. One prominent YouTuber, Thomas Sanders, has a two-part series of him just covering good news and events happening in the world.

So, life isn’t all bad news. If you are feeling down, check out these resources. Also, if the negative atmosphere of the world is getting you down, don’t feel afraid to ask for help. You can call the 24-hour suicide hotline (1-800-273-8255) or talk to a guidance counselor. You matter and maybe by tomorrow, you’ll have or be the good news of today.
