Heritage MUN wins big at UN Headquarters

in News by

The Model United Nations (MUN) Team traveled to New York City this past week to participate in the National High School Model United Nations (NHSMUN) conference held at the headquarters of United Nations. Heritage competed and, in true Heritage fashion, won the Award of Excellence for their delegation for the second year in a row.

Seniors Matt Robins and Ryan DelGaudio, and freshman Thomas Lovegren all contributed to Heritage’s success by winning Awards of Distinction. Winning the distinction award can be compared to winning best delegate at other conferences.

Sophomore Nithya Kasarla and senior Grace King received the honor of delivering a speech to one of the largest conferences in the General Assembly Hall of United Nations.

This conference marks the last for seniors who will be graduating in May. The co-president of MUN, King, participated in her 17th MUN conference and she said she hates her high school MUN career has come to an end. “I’m so proud of everyone [they’re all amazing] and I can’t wait to see how well they do in the future. It was really hard to say goodbye, but it was an amazing trip and experience,” King said.
