Netlix Party: Watch TV with friends from home

in Entertainment by

While many of us miss our peers and are bored in our homes, a relatively new program has been developed that can help us interact with our friends and family and watch our favorite shows at the same time. An activity that certainly helps people exercise social distancing, Netflix Party is a software perfect for keeping social during quarantine.

Netflix Party developed as a program you can use while watching Netflix. It allows whoever you want to join your “party” and watch the same show as you at the same time, from their screen.

To use Netflix Party, download the software online and install it on a computer. Next, open Netflix and pick the program you and your friends want to watch. To add other people to the show you’re watching, click the “NP” button next to the address bar and create a party. After that, just share the link with those you want to watch with, and all they have to do is click on the link and hit the “NP” button on their address bar right after. Following these simple steps, anybody can watch the same show at the same time as their friends from their own beds.

Due to the Coronavirus keeping everyone inside, Netflix Party took a huge jump as thousands of more people are using the software.

Junior Anika Dham has used Netflix Party several times since the COVID-19 outbreak. “It’s really cool how you can watch the same show as your friends and message them about it. I think it is a great substitute for watching Netflix with people in person,” Dham said.

Another junior, Alex Soloman, also explained how useful Netflix Party has been the last few weeks. “It’s really fun to just be able to watch a show or movie with your friends without having to risk infection or breaking quarantine practices,” he said. “It’s a slice of our old life.”

Although it remains difficult to stay cooped up inside your house and not see everybody, Netflix Party connects you with your friends and offers a fun activity to do during quarantine.
