Continuing their December winning streak, the NHS Brain Brawl team has conquered the Southern Division at their last competition at McArthur High School.

The tournament lasted a few months (get exact dates) and finished Jan. 6. “It feels pretty good to win by large margins,” said team member and senior Sam Moon.

A Brain Brawl competition consists of Jeopardy-style trivia questions on a wide range of topics, such as history and literature, where four students on each team buzz in to answer first and win points. NHS’ team beat out Cooper City High School to win the southern division and now moves on to play the winner of the northern division for the County Championship Jan. 20 at Plantation High School. Heritage has won the County Championship since they started playing the tournament two years ago.“We’re looking forward to a three-peat,” Brain Brawl Committee chairman and senior Jared Shulkin said.
