Remembering Pop Smoke

The 20-year-old rapper, whose legal name is Bashar Barakah Jackson, suffered gunshot wounds during a home invasion. Officials pronounced the rapper dead after being escorted to a hospital. According to the Los Angeles Times, police detained several people at the scene, but later released them. Authorities have yet to identify or find the four suspects who fled the scene. Keep Reading

Thespians take the stage at districts

The members took part in 12 categories including: group musical, duet musical, solo musical, monologue, duet acting group acting, pantomime, set design, costumes, lighting, student directed scene, playwriting and the one act play. District individual events took place Dec. 7. However, the junior high one act festival took place Dec. 6, and the high school one-act festival took place Dec. 12-13. Keep Reading

Orchestra concert closes winter concert series

Bringing the winter concerts to a close, Orchestra took to the stage Dec. 12. Following a Christmas theme, the orchestra concert featured two pieces conducted by students, “Ose Shalom” by senior co-conductor Joey Balem and a collection of pieces from “The Prince of Egypt” by junior co-conductor Pierre Younes, as well as a symphonic collaboration with members from band.
