Three days into school starting, students are starting to get back into the groove of homework, studying and their new years resolutions. Nearly 48% of people prioritize including fitness in their new year, and so should students for their well-being which spring sports gives a great opportunity for.

For many student athletes, they will be returning to their sports for another season and setting new goals.

“I want to help get the team back to states like last year and spend time with all my teammates,” varsity tennis player junior Ellie Bill said.

Spring season sports are as follows:

Baseball: varsity and junior varsity (Jan. 5); junior high (Jan. 26)

Boys lacrosse: varsity (Jan. 19); junior high TBD

Girls lacrosse: varsity and junior varsity (Jan. 19)

Softball: varsity and junior varsity (Jan. 5)

Tennis: varsity and junior varsity try-outs (Jan. 12); junior high (Jan. 26)

Boys volleyball: varsity and junior varsity (Feb. 2)

Weightlifting: varsity (Jan. 12)

Remember, prior to participating or trying out, GA7 form must be completed for your desired sport for the season and physicals and consent forms (EL2 and EL3) in Magnus Health platform should be signed and uploaded.

“This will be my fifth year doing volleyball and it’s my senior year, so I want to make it my best one. My biggest goal for the season is to win districts and possibly states,” senior varsity boys volleyball setter Sean Kanji said.
