Patriots TV organizes Adopt A Family event

As the holidays roll around, love and cheer fill the air. To care for those who need it most, Patriots TV is working with local nonprofit CBS4’s Neighbors4Neighbors through their Adopt A Family event.

PatriotsTV first partnered with Neighbors4Neighbors to bring relief to those affected by Hurricane Ian. Neighbors4Neighbors helps 500 families each year, and as part of the Adopt A Family Program, the PatriotsTV crew picked two families to focus on: the Smart family and the O’Neill family. All funds raised will go toward buying the two families  presents and gift cards for the holidays.

Sophomore Drew Bank, an anchor for PatriotsTV, has helped the fundraiser by advertising it and spending time with the families. “We met them last month to learn about them and play with the kids. We are meeting them again Dec. 16 to give them gifts and spend more time with them,” Bank said.

By donating $10, students can earn one service hour with a maximum of 10 service hours. Use this link to get to the donation page or drop off cash and gift cards in room 25-307.

Junior Andrew Rollins manages all business and finance-related affairs for PatriotsTV, including this fundraiser. He helped decide which families PatriotsTV would be helping and promoted the event with senior Jacob Lyons on the morning announcements.

“I think this is an amazing thing we’re doing for the community and it makes me feel very happy to know we’re helping families in need this holiday season. We’re giving them their presents next week so I’m looking forward to seeing joy on the families’ faces,” he said.
