Seniors spend day in the spotlight as they film senior video

Lights, camera, action: instead of classes, the senior class spent Nov. 25 filming their senior video. The senior video is an annual tradition that seniors film early in the year and the Patriots TV crew puts together to play at the senior dinner, which is currently scheduled for May 15.

“I had a great time talking to my friends at the video filming. It was a nice break from classes,” senior Daniel Heit said.

The filming was broken into three segments. Students reported to the football field bleachers upon arrival, and in groups of 40, took turns walking up the 3000 stairs and then down the stairs wearing graduation caps.

The second section was on the field, where senior Patriot Dancers Addison Lynch, Imani Rigaud and Nicole Mesa led the class in a choreographed routine.

After a break at the Patriot Patio filled with pizza and laughter, they filmed the third segment in the gym, which consisted of representing various clubs, lip syncing to the song “Party Rock (LMFAO)” and a conga line.

“My favorite segment was the dance on the field — specifically the freestyle part. I got to shake my stuff,” senior Shreyan Singha said.

The seniors have many more events to look forward to, including Grad Bash April 25, the Senior Breakfast May 1, Senior Carnival May 2 and of course, graduation May 18.

”I enjoyed filming the senior video and I would like to thank our class advisors for their work in planning it. I can’t wait to see the result,” senior Nesibe Kalb-Karakaya said.
