Students evacuated as fire alarm rang in the 2500

A blaring alarm sounded throughout the 2500 building Thursday, telling the students and faculty there was a fire present and they needed to evacuate, even though there wasn’t a fire.

After they were told they were clear to leave, teachers and their students exited to the field next to the 2500. Additional faculty arrived to make sure students didn’t go back towards the building until they received an all clear at 1:15 p.m.

One of those faculty, dance teacher Ms. Cecilia Case, otherwise known as Ms. Cici, said she was unaware of the cause of the fire. Later, Mr. Rodriguez stated that administration believes the fire “was a false alarm, which can sometimes occur.”
