With their win in the regional quarterfinals five days prior, the first-seeded Lady Patriots took the court once again Tuesday, Feb. 18 versus the fifth-seeded Central Rockets with the hopes of moving on to the regional finals.

The game followed a similar script to the quarterfinals, as Heritage once again maintained control of the game and held the Rockets to 29 points, scoring 46 points of their own to secure the victory.

“What led to the victory was our defense,” head coach Greg Farias said. “We struggled offensively, so our defense helped us win. The plan for Friday is that we need to bring the defensive intensity and stay calm because big games are all about runs. You can go up 10 points and then they can tie the score in minutes.”

The win advances the Patriots (22-4) to the regional finals Friday, Feb. 21 where they will face the second-seeded Norland Vikings (22-6) as Heritage’s run at the title continues.
