Each summer many restaurants bring limited-time offerings to their, but some are better than others. I visited Chick-fil-a, Burger King, Starbucks and Dunkin’ to find out which had the best summertime treat. I gave each drink a rating out of 10 based on its taste and texture.
Chick-fil-a, Peach Milkshake:

The peach milkshake is sweet, creamy and has a gentle flavor. However, the small peach chunks inside add a slight acidity. They elevate both the taste and texture of the drink. I also really enjoy the thick texture of the milkshake. Overall, I give it an 8/10. (Photo/Alex Ngo)

The Sabrina’s Strawberry Daydream Refresher tasted mostly like artificial strawberry, and it was extremely sweet. The foam had a less intense flavor, and it added some texture to the drink, but not enough to make it special. Overall, I give it a 5/10. (Photo/Alex Ngo)
Starbucks, Summer-Berry Coconut Milk Refresher:

The Summer-Berry Refresher comes in two variations: with coconut milk and with lemonade. I ordered the version with coconut milk. The drink had a blue raspberry flavor, which is not something I would usually consider summer-themed. The popping boba had a regular raspberry flavor and added texture to the drink. However, as the ice melted, the drink became much more sour. Overall, I give it a 3/10. (Photo/Alex Ngo)
Burger King, Frozen Fanta Strawberry & Nerds:

The Frozen Fanta Strawberry & Nerds slushie was overpoweringly sweet and had an artificial strawberry flavor, much like the Strawberry Daydream Refresher from Dunkin’ Donuts but also unlike it. The Nerds candy comprised a thin layer on top of the drink, which meant they added little to the flavor and texture. Though Nerds are incredibly sweet, they aren’t much sweeter than the strawberry Fanta, so they don’t stand out from the rest of the slushie. However, being a slushie, its texture was unique; since it was also soda, it had the same carbonated texture as well. Though its texture was unique, it didn’t make the slushie much better. Overall, I give it a 4/10. (Photo/Alex Ngo)
