The varsity football team is wasting no time under new coach Pat Surtain; the players have already started practicing for the spring scrimmage and next year’s season.
With previous experience with all the players, Surtain will attempt to continue the trend of success for American Heritage football.
Coming to Heritage three years ago, Coach Rumph had a goal, “to build a program where we had support from the administration and the students.”
As senior quarterback Torrance Gibson ran out of bounds to stop the clock with four seconds left to go, it was up to Milstein to break the 17-17 tie with Bishop Moore. The snap, the hold, and the Patriots win.
The football team will face off against the Orlando Bishop Moore Hornets in the Class 5A state semifinals Friday, Dec. 5.
