The day before spring break, March 21, the 7500 building was closed due to exposed wiring. Students across campus were barred from entering the world-language classrooms or the student center, both located in the building.
Students in world-language classes were sent to the Patriot Patio for classes, which is the student area near the tennis courts. “Doing our work outside was a fun way to end school before spring break,” freshman Madeline Zhuravel said.
As for the student center issue, the faculty found a creative way around the problem. Rather than selling food in the student center, the staff transferred food to wheeled carts and began selling it along the canal. This creative solution was certainly a memorable way to end the week before spring break.
