The moment all Pogues and Kooks have been waiting for has arrived: the release of “Outer Banks” season four. The release of the new season consists of two five-episode parts, the first coming Oct. 10 and the second Nov. 7.
All the original characters will be back, including John B (Chase Stokes), Sarah (Madelyn Cline), JJ (Rudy Pankow), Kiara (Madison Bailey), Pope (Jonathan Daviss) and Cleo (Carlacia Grant). New characters will be introduced as well such as Chandler Groff (J. Anthony Crane), who will guide the Pogues to their next adventure; Dalia (Pollyanna McIntosh), who seems to be a “revolutionary-like leader” who comes face-to-face with the Pogues; Hollis Robinson (Brianna Brown), who’s the biggest realtor on the island and worked with Ward on a business deal; Lightner (Rigo Sanchez), who is described as a “stranger with a piratical nerve” and Ruthie (Mia Challis), who’s toxicity continues as her relationship with Topper grows.
But, what’s next? At the end of season three the Pogues solved the mystery of the Royal Merchant shipwreck and found the lost treasure of El Dorado. During their celebration, they encountered an on-going search for the missing ship of Edward Teach, also known as the pirate Blackbeard. For season four, we appear to be going back in time. The Pogues have now opened Kildare County Surf Shop, their new business, with bait, tackle and charter tours. However, due to some financial issues, they follow up with the search for Pirate Blackbeard.
Madison Bailey, actress of the character Kiara, thinks this new treasure hunt will be a fresh start for the show. “[Fans] should interpret it not as the end of an era, but we are very much summing up seasons one and two with a bottom,” said Bailey.
Upcoming seasons for the series “Outer Banks” coming out on Netflix. The cast started filming in Wilmington, North Carolina, Nov. 20, 2023. In prior seasons the cast was filming in Charleston, South Carolina but decided to shift up north. Adding this shift also gives a geographical relevance to the story along with the historical context of Blackbeard’s presence in that area. “I can’t wait, I am so happy to see the new season and see what adventure happens next,” sophomore Hendrix O’ Ferrall said.
