Obscura: Ryuichi Sakamoto

While spring break this year has proven to be chilly for many up north, Japanese artist Ryuichi Sakamoto has used his 2017 album Async to warm up the stage and become the “easy-listening” trend of today. Glass Animals shatters with their second album

Their most recent album, How to Be a Human Being, is full of nostalgic and aesthetic melodies infused with a blend of 80’s funk and melodrama. The album cover depicts eleven people with (presumably) unique backgrounds told by each of the eleven tracks in the album.  Although some tracks blend into others, each mirrors a different person’s story. The Vietnamese dining destination flaunts a casual ambience and excellent food, though it’s named for its signature pho, a Vietnamese noodle soup made with broth, vegetables, herbs and usually some type of meat, typically left to cook for six hours. Keep Reading
