French students claim victory at Le Congrès

in News by

Le Congrès de la Culture Française en Floride (CCFF) is a statewide French competition held each spring. This year, Heritage students went to the Rosen Centre Hotel in Orlando March 6–8 to compete in nine different competitions, ranging from multiple-choice tests to reenactments of scenes from French plays. Each year, the competition has a different theme; this time, it was “La cuisine du monde francophone” or “The cuisine of the French-speaking world.”

After eating lunch at the Universal CityWalk, students

went to the hotel March 6. Those competing in group competitions, including skits, projects and song performances, presented their pieces to judges that day.

The next day, students competed in individual competitions: there were multiple-choice reading comprehension tests, poem recitations, conversations with judges and speeches. At around 7:00 p.m., a banquet was held for the students where awards were given.
