If a team has four All-Star players, that team is probably very good. That is the exact case for the Heritage girl’s basketball team. An All-Star is someone who excels at their sport and is a top player at their position. Being named an All-Star is a great accomplishment, but to have four players on one team named All-Stars is incredible.
Senior point guard Skyla Osceola, senior guard Auviance Lindo, senior guard Taylor Smith, and senior power forward Krystal Moncrief have all been named 2017 Private School Broward Girls All-Stars.
Osceola has averaged 16 points per game this season and still managed to dish out 11 assists per game. She is the epitome of a point guard. Her prolific scoring matched with her efficient passing makes Osceola an offensive threat to be reckoned with.
Lindo is incredible on both ends of the floor. Scoring 10 points per game, Lindo can play either point guard or shooting guard. On defense, Lindo averages four steals per game, which translates to more offense. Lindo is a diverse player who creates points on offense and defense.
Smith, who can also play as either point guard or shooting guard, is a force on the court with 14 points per game and six steals per game. Smith creates endless turnovers and still manages to put up great scoring numbers.
These girls have worked hard all season for this accomplishment. Being named an All-Star is a great honor that all four of these girls absolutely deserve.
