JV boys basketball suffer loss to Cardinal Gibbons

in Sports by

The junior varsity boys basketball team and the JV cheer squad took over the Heritage gym Dec. 17. Even though the boys fought hard against the Cardinal Gibbon Chiefs, they lost 74-21.

Many of the points the Patriots sank through the net were off three pointers and free throws. Junior Pierre Moreau displayed his impressive shots from outside the three-point arc, earning six points from three pointers in the first half alone. Freshman Noah Antevy drew many penalties, earning him multiple shots on the free throw line. Junior Jarome Tomaselli and sophomore Ronak Patel also played a role in earning points for the Patriots.

The cheerleaders accompanied the boys, performing cheers such as “Black and Gold” from the stands. “We have a list that we pick off of. All of us choose specific cheers we want to do at the beginning, then go off of that,” JV cheer captain freshman Vanessa Walchli said.

The basketball players now have time off from games until the end of winter break when they play Abundant Life Christian Academy at home Jan. 7.
