Newspaper staffers have already started to get into the festive spirit, filling their stockings and placing presents under the Christmas tree. After being asked by her students, Newspaper advisor Ms. Diana Adams pulled out a box full of winter-themed classroom decorations from her cabinet Nov. 20.
As excitement filled the room, newspaper students joined in on the decorating festivities. From little dreidels to toy trains, the box full of wonders held enough to add holiday spirit to every corner of the class. A mini Christmas tree stood on a table in the front of the room, surrounded by paper presents and miniature toys.
Stockings with Hepzibah and Ollie, hung near the yearbook calendar, along with the signs “Merry Christmas” and “Happy Hanukkah.” Little characters also dotted the classroom as teddy bears, mini elves and cartoon figurines sat on shelves to brighten students’ days.
“It was so fun decorating with my classmates, because we all work so hard and it was nice to do something fun together,” freshman staffer Camila Doerffler said.
This year, newspaper students decided to add garland to frame the whiteboard. Additionally, multi-colored lights framed the computer stations. This added another possible tradition to the newspaper staff, along with the upcoming Secret Santa celebration.
