Senior cornerback Tarvarus McFadden received his first college scholarship offer from Boston College as a sophomore.
After mulling over his 30+ offers, he has narrowed his list to three schools: Florida State University, Louisiana State University and University of Georgia. He will announce his decision on senior night, Oct. 31, before the game vs. Cardinal Gibbons.
This weekend, McFadden will take his first official visit to FSU. He has visited the campus a few times in the past and said he is looking forward to visiting for the first time with his family.
“The atmosphere, team, coaches, and just the overall experience” have stood out in past visits, McFadden said.
He has taken an unofficial visit to Georgia and plans to take an official visit after his commitment date, even if he doesn’t commit to Georgia.
McFadden keeps in contact with former Heritage teammates Isaiah McKenzie and Sony Michel, who are both at Georgia. McKenzie and Michel have been trying to convince McFadden to commit to the Georgia Bulldogs.
“Besides my teammates being there, I like the atmosphere, coaches, football team and the environment itself,” McFadden said.
He hasn’t visited LSU yet, but also plans on taking an official visit, even if he doesn’t commit there.
Right now he said he is leaning towards LSU or Georgia.
“Playing time, coaches, the way the team plays together, and if the team can win a national title,” are all deciding factors for McFadden.
McFadden does wear a Georgia lanyard around campus, but we’ll have to wait and see if that is where he commits on Halloween. The five-star recruit has two interceptions and hasn’t allowed a touchdown so far this season.
Although McFadden will verbally commit to a college, he said it won’t be his final decision and he will keep his options open.
