Located at the Sawgrass Mills Mall, the Matchbox restaurant serves a diverse array of food options from their menu in a modern and comfortable setting.
Matchbox offers American food such as their famous mini burgers (a great appetizer to share with friends) as well as BBQ ribs and pizza. For a healthier alternative, Matchbox also has a variety of salads such as a roasted salmon and spinach salad and an apple and pear salad, among others.
What sets Matchbox apart from any other American cuisine restaurant is its laid-back atmosphere. Steel pipes along the bricks walls, fire pits, outdoor balconies (perfect for people-watching) and even a private chef’s table to view the cooking in the kitchen radiate a modern hipster ambiance that cannot be found elsewhere.
Matchbox’s staff quality also matches their food quality. The waiters are extremely friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. I asked which dishes the waiter recommended and received advice on what to order. I ordered the mini burgers and a cheese pizza for the table. The burgers were delicious and easy to share. The cheese pizza included a delicious, fresh tomato sauce and creamy cheese. For dessert, I tried the cinnamon churros (perhaps an unusual dessert item for a restaurant) and they were extremely good. The warm churros were accompanied by a chocolate dipping sauce that also added to its delicious taste.
The menu includes a variety of excellent appetizers such as a warm spinach and artichoke dip, accompanied by thin breadsticks, as well as their crispy fried calamari. For dessert, there are also many options such as cinnamon sugar churros, lemon and raspberry sorbet and cheesecake.
Next time you plan on heading to Sawgrass Mills Mall to do some shopping or see a movie, stop by Matchbox for brunch, lunch or dinner for a delicious meal in a relaxing and stylish setting.
