Sole to sole: look into the trending shoes at school

Trends constantly change, and it’s no different with shoes. From Sketchers to Adidas, take a peek at the shoes kids wear to school everyday.

Recently, Air Jordans by Nike have gained popularity. Inspired by the six-time National Basketball League (NBA) champion Michael Jordan, students all over campus can be seen sporting Jordans in various colors and designs.

It’s not only Jordans that have risen to the top. Dunks and Air Force Ones join Air Jordans as Nike’s best-selling shoes. This brand’s footwear bought them $23 billion in profit last year due to their wide selection. Available in countless colors and designs, Nike ensures that they have an option for every person. “I bought my Dunks because they were cute and I liked the style,” freshman Anthony Fateev said.

Air Jordans and Dunks can be seen on countless students, yet they share the spotlight with another Nike company, Converse. Converse’s All-Star basketball shoes have kept nearly the same design since 1917, making them easily recognizable and familiar. They can be purchased in almost every color, yet their signature black and white shoe remains at the forefront of their brand. “I picked [my Converses] because they go well with any outfit,” eighth grader Inica Kaushal said. Converses remain functional and versatile.

Trends never fail to change with passing time. While Nike shoes remain popular among the teens of today, tomorrow the trend could switch to Pumas. Whatever the new fashion may be, shoes will always be a part of it.
