For day four of “AHS Wrapped” spirit week, Heritage had a “party in the USA,” with students and faculty dressing in red, white and blue.
“I like where I live and I like my country, so I approve of USA spirit day. Red, white and blue is a tough color combination, but the enthusiasm from my students is fantastic,” AP Physics C: Mechanics teacher Mr. David Jones said.
Whether wearing a classic flag t-shirt, face paint or decked out in a USA onesie, the patriotic spirit echoed throughout campus.
“I think this day is super fun and very patriotic. It makes me feel very at home, surrounded by red, white and blue,” senior Kevin Moya said.
At lunch, the Student Government Association (SGA) continued the fun, hosting a game called “How Lucky are Your Charms.” SGA co-president senior Mila Bond explained how the game would work. “Three people from each class each compete in one round, so there are three total rounds. You use spoons to pick out marshmallows out of bowls of lucky charms, but you can’t use your hands. At the end of each round, each team’s lucky charms are counted, and the total from each class after all three rounds are tallied. The class with the most lucky charms wins,” Bond said. The winner will be announced at the Friday pep rally.
