Students shine bright for day two of Spirit Week

in News by

For the second Spring Spirit Week day, students participated in Neon Day March 11. Dressing up in bright clothing with jeans or school bottoms, students were able to twin and be comfy during the last few days of quarter three.

During lunch, the Student Government Association (SGA) hosted Pizza with the Principals and gave out gift cards to winners of Heritage trivia and best dressed. The next dress-down day theme will be Hawaiian.

Pop culture impacts students in countless ways, including during dress up days. The influence from movies like “Barbie” and “Wicked” can be seen in students’ choices for clothes, whether it be matching in pink and green like Elphaba and Glinda or wearing a shirt saying “I am Kenough.” (Photos/Camila Doerffler, Daniel Harper and Adiya Mukhitdinov)

Many students took the opportunity to twin with their friends. From neon construction suits to matching orange and pink shirts, spirit week helps bring friends together to take a break from schoolwork. Dress-up days aren’t just mutually exclusive for students, teachers partake in the fun too. From left to right, Dean Sibio, Precalculus teacher Mr. Moore, Dance coach Ms. Case and academy teacher Ms. Garnet enjoy the themed days as well. (Photos/Daniel Harper, Alina Sukhovskaya and Cara Xie)

Junior high students participated in the dress-up days too, sometimes dressed even better than high schoolers with their bright tie-dye shirts. (Photos/Emma Colarte Delgado and Adiya Mukhitdinov)
