When dimes mean more than dollars

When sophomore Joshua Hoffman gave his first speech at 4 years old, his mom wrote him just one line to say. But don’t let that deceive you. By the time he was 7, the March of Dimes selected Hoffman as a national ambassador, traveling to 20 states and more than 60 cities to speak in front of thousands of people to raise awareness about premature births. Built to win: Heritage’s long-lasting tradition

At this point in the school year, Heritage has once again succeeded in establishing itself as a dominant force in high school athletics, no matter the sport. Though the varsity football team fell short of winning another championship, Heritage showcased its winning culture as the girls and boys varsity soccer teams, the girls varsity basketball team and the girls golf team all earned state titles. State champions: No trial for mock trial

Taking their passion for the judicial circuit beyond the upstairs 9000 courtroom, the mock trial team made their way to the state competition and claim their place as champions. The team made their way to the Orange County Courthouse in Orlando March 15-17 to showcase their skills and make their way to the top. Keep Reading

Subject Tests: Not Worth the Time

As my junior year is coming to a close and senior year begins creeping up, I think about college and begin to ask myself, “Where should I apply and what is required for me to get accepted?” Of course, I am on top of my junior year grades and am currently studying for the ACT and have already taken the SAT. However, I and many of my friends are now grappling with SAT Subject Tests, a gray area of the college admissions process that is always a question whether to take them. it. Keep Reading

Scholastic announces national awards

Out of the Gold Key works that were judged at the regional Scholastic Art and Writing competition from December to January, five American Heritage students received an award at the national level. Of the five awards, four were for art or photography with one for poetry, and two were Gold Medals, while the rest were Silver Medals. Keep Reading
