To ring in the spring season, the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) hosted the annual Fine Arts Festival and Spring Fling from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 2. Students from all areas of fine arts including theater, dance and band, also came together to host a series of concerts.
The Patriot band showcased their talents, helping to hype up the assembled students. Senior Shrika Kantipudi, who plays the clarinet, stated she was “really excited about how the concert turned out” after all the hard work each student had put in. After performing, the band headed to their stand, bravely preparing for an attack of water balloons. Singing their favorite hits, members could choose to sing solos or perform with the whole group. Towards the end of the day, they joined a few band members, accompanying them with their own instrumental. Upon arrival, each student received a wristband to wear for the duration of the carnival. Students from all art classes including visual concepts, photography and ceramics were recognized. “I’m glad this is a tradition we do that I could continue being a part of,” said senior Jessica Zighelboim who is in Photography 6.
