Students piled up outside of the Student Center Wednesday, awaiting the doors to open for the annual World Food Festival hosted by the World Language Department.
Dishes were brought from all over the world such as blini from Ukraine, tres leches from Mexico and others by students from the Spanish Honor Society (SHS), French Honor Society (FHS), Chinese Honor Society (CHS), Italian and Brazil Club and the Muslim (MSA), Indian (ISA) and Jewish Student Associations (JSA).
“The highlight of the event to me was celebrating everyone’s cultures and sharing memories with my friends, while also getting a break from school work,” sophomore and co-president of JSA Halle Bank said.
Students and teachers could enter by either bringing a dish from their country or paying $10 entrance fee. These fees were afterwards donated to the Cancer Society.
