A Youtuber who makes videos identifying Roblox child predators known as Schlep has been banned from the platform, resulting in the spread of a broader controversy over whether the company does enough to protect youth.
RealSchlep, who has helped police with six arrests, wrote in an X post earlier this month that Roblox has banned him on every account, sent him a cease-and-desist order and labeled him a “vigilante.” According to Roblox, ‘vigilante’ behavior creates an unsafe environment on their platform. RealSchlep’s first name is Michael, but his last name is unknown.

Recently, Roblox players in Qatar have found themselves unable to play Roblox. Due to safety concerns of the public, government authorities took action, though there has been . In addition, U.S. Rep. Ro Khanna, a California Democrat, launched a petition for Roblox to “do more to protect children, provide more support to parents, and strengthen law enforcement protocols that help bring predators to justice.”
Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill announced Aug. 14, 2025 that she is suing Roblox, calling it “a breeding ground for sex predators.”
“Roblox is overrun with harmful content and child predators because it prioritizes user growth, revenue, and profits over child safety,” said Murrill, a Republican. The lawsuit includes examples of explicit experiences and predator activity on Roblox, alleging that the platform:
Knowingly and intentionally fails to provide notice to parents and child users of its dangers.”
“Has and continues to facilitate the distribution of child sexual abuse material and the sexual exploitation of Louisiana’s children.
Knowingly and intentionally fails to implement basic safety controls to protect child users from predators.
