Turn on the TV because students dressed up in the theme of popular Netflix shows including “Kaleidoscope,” “Outer Banks,” “Stranger Things” and “Sleepover.” This Spring Spirit Week marked the last one of the school year and the last pep rally celebration for seniors.
It began with day one inspired by the show, “Kaleidescope,” where students wore their class-color shirts. During fifth period on this day, the pep rally occurred where the A Cappella group sang the National Anthem, the Student Government Association (SGA) prepared games for students and teachers to participate in and winners of these games received special prizes.
Then students hit the road either going to the countryside or to the country club with day two being inspired by the show, “Outer Banks.”
Many students looked forward to the third day, which was inspired by the show “Stranger Things.” Students and teachers dressed in their best ‘70s and ‘80s outfits–the campus was filled with neon-colored clothing. Along with this day, SGA distributed Match-o-Matics–a school-based survey students fill out designed to match them with compatible peers for friendship or romance. They paid $5 to get their results with proceeds benefiting EdRocks, a non-profit organization that funds children’s education in underserved countries.
“We hope students have fun and make new friends with people they match with,” SGA co-president and junior Hillary Kowitt said.
The film “Sleepover” inspired the final event–Pajama Day. It was favorite for many students as they could roll out of bed and stay in their comfiest PJs. Earlier in the day, the National Art Honor Society (NAHS) handed out floral grams to those who purchased.
