Have you ever wanted to watch a show where bullies are punished, those who’ve hurt others repent for their “sins” and secrets rise to the surface? Classic teen TV show Pretty Little Liars makes a thrilling comeback with spin-off Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin. From the outside the story is set in a normal town filled with normal people, but five girls hide one deadly secret that comes back to torment them and their daughters twenty-two years later. Keep reading to find out more. But, beware, spoilers are ahead.

While the original Pretty Little Liars was set in Rosewood, Pa., Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin is set a few towns over in Millwood. The first episode begins when Angela Waters (Gabriella Pizzolo) takes her own life after her “friends” Davie Adams (Carly Pope), Marjorie Olivar (Elena Goode), Elodie Honrada (Lea Salonga), Sidney Hayworthe (Sharon Leal) and Corey Bryant (Zakiya Young) relentlessly bully and ignore her.

Flashing forward twenty-two years later, their daughters Imogen Adams (Bailee Madison), Noa Olivar (Maia Reficco), Mouse Honrada (Malia Pyles), Tabby Hayworthe (Chandler Kinney) and Faran Bryant (Zaria Simone) have to face the consequences when an anonymous man named A (Angela’s twin brother Archie Waters) starts leaving them threatening messages and killing the bullies around them such as Imogen’s ex-best friend Karen Beasley (Mallory Bechtel) .

Throughout the whole season, the five girls make it their mission to uncover the secret identity of A and his relationship to Angela. The final episode exposes the mastermind behind A’s revenge plan: Millwood High’s very own principal who is seeking retribution for the death of his daughter Angela.

The show teaches important lessons such as treating people the way you want to be treated and staying careful  of whom you trust – including the people you talk to online. Specifically, Tabby and Imogen realize that the father of Imogen’s baby and the man who hurt the both of them, happened to be Tabby’s best friend. Mouse develops a tense relationship with a stranger she meets online who starts showing up more often in her life. All of the bullies in the show and those who have done harm to others, face the consequences and punishments.

The final episode marks the pivotal point of the show where we find out the full story behind Angela’s death, and it provides a starting point for the next season because A runs away from the hospital. Everything came together at the end, and adding the fact Ezra and Aria from the original Pretty Little Liars will be the adoptive parents of Imogen’s baby was a nice touch. The next season might involve A’s return to cause more destruction in Millwood or maybe the writers will dive deeper into A’s life.
